Description
We are currently collaborating with a growing organization in Airway Heights, Spokane, WA, to fill a Project Accountant role. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals experienced in project-based accounting with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
As a Project Accountant, you’ll play an essential role in managing the financial aspects of projects from start to finish. This position is ideal for an experienced project accounting professional who enjoys collaborating with teams and tracking the financial performance of ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage project financials, including setup, budgeting, tracking, and reporting for multiple projects.
Prepare and monitor project-related revenue and expense reports, verifying accuracy and ensuring compliance with company standards.
Handle project billing, tracking work-in-progress (WIP), and ensuring invoices are processed accurately and on time.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide real-time updates on project financial performance.
Analyze job cost reports to ensure budget adherence and assist teams in identifying and correcting variances.
Partner with finance teams to reconcile project costs, revenue recognition, and maintain accurate general ledger entries.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes as they relate to project accounting activities.
Assist with audits and provide documentation for project-related financial transactions when required.
Requirements
Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of project accounting experience, preferably in industries such as construction, manufacturing, or engineering.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or QuickBooks) or other project management software is highly desirable.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve project-related financial discrepancies efficiently.
Organizational Excellence: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to project managers and stakeholders.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
