Actalent Electrical Systems Engineer in Anoka, Minnesota

Job Title: Electrical Systems EngineerJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team. This role focuses primarily on controls design and EMI/EMC design, ensuring that our electrical control systems meet project requirements and industry standards. As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the functionality, reliability, and safety of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical specifications for electrical control systems based on marketing and customer requirements.

  • Design control systems, including tasks such as DFMA's, design analysis, component selection, system layout, controller and display integration, systems verification, and validation testing.

  • Define, conduct, and manage product verification and validation testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and EMC performance.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve any related issues.

  • Establish and maintain standard modules and interfaces for electrical, controls, and software designs.

  • Collaborate with engineering project leads, project management, and marketing teams to deliver solutions to our customers.

  • Develop and maintain EMC design guidelines and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Prepare and present technical reports and documentation related to EMC design and testing.

  • Provide technical guidance to design and cross-functional teams to incorporate EMC considerations into product designs for both new and existing products.

  • Manage EMC testing and validation with suppliers and customers, review reports, and perform follow-up actions to resolve EMC issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Control Systems design.

  • Experience with hardening and testing designs to comply with EMC standards.

  • Strong knowledge of control systems, algorithms, and EMC standards and regulations.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
