The Opportunity
This position works out of our Atlanta, GA location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As the Maintenance Technician, you will maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Responsibilities include operation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all equipment; move and installation of equipment; maintain accurate records of work performed and other related duties. Provides validation technical assistance to engineering to support manufacturing efforts by implementing corrective and preventative actions. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve manufacturing processes. Assists in execution of equipment validations. Validation certification required. Work with engineers on set-up and calibration tasks.
What You’ll Work On
Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations. This includes QSR and ISO Standards.
Participates on the Site Spill Response Team.
Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary.
Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
Evaluates operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
May develop or revise documents and procedures.
Certifies manufacturing associates in the production processes.
Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, parts, tools and fixtures.
Supports calibration team with installation and replacement of calibration assets as needed.

Required Qualifications
- 8 years related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Extensive programming experience
Good communication skills and proactive attitude
Ability to flex to both A and B Shifts

The base pay for this position is $26.35 – $52.65 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
