Work you'll do/Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) to join our healthcare IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the operational databases within the Epic environment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of the database systems with preferred public cloud knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Epic operational databases systems and applications in a public cloud environment
Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching.
Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
Collaborate with application teams to support and implement database-related changes.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database issues.
Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications
Required
Epic Certification: Must possess current Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) certification.
3-5 years of experience in database administration, with at least 2 years specifically working with Epic databases.
Proficiency in database management systems such as IRIS, Cache DBA
Proficiency in UNIX, LINUX, and AIX environments
Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategies.
Proficiency in database management systems such as IRIS, Cache DBA
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Ability to work remotely, be on-call (rotation for after-hours support), ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed, travel 10% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred
Previous Consulting experience
Experience with Epic's Chronicles database and Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle reporting.
Cloud knowledge such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
Previous experience in a healthcare IT environment.
Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
Previous leadership experience preferred.
Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
Excellent written and communication skills
Ability to deliver technical demonstrations
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $97,875 to $145,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
