What You Will Do
Supervise, enhance and monitor designated tailings related engineering practices for the site.
Report environmental compliance and KPI related issues and make recommendations to appropriate site management for correction.
Supervise or review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding planned engineering projects. Supervise or may serve as Project Manager or technical expert, on large/complex site construction, expansion or modification engineering projects.
Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on tailings management system applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.
Evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.
Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.
Represent the site on Company sponsored steering teams.
Supervise site tailings engineering team, manage EoR deliverables and coordinate with Site Mill Manager and Tailings Manager and Corporate TCLW team to implement best tailings mgt. practices at the site.
Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and seven (7) years of experience in engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience, OR
Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline and five (5) years of experience in engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience.
Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
Skilled in managing large/complex engineering projects.
Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification
Experience with Large Tailings expansion projects
Experience with central cyclone stations
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $113,000-$158,000 . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
