Actalent Environmental Engineer in Bakersfield, California

Job Title: Environmental EngineerJob Description

In this role, you will support a positive safety culture within two 24/7 Lightweight Aggregate operations regulated by MSHA safety standards. The Environmental Engineer will coordinate, direct, and maintain all environmental systems to ensure continued compliance with corporate and governmental standards for the Frazier Park, CA, and Boulder, CO plants. This position develops and implements programs to prevent and solve environmental problems and works closely with the plant operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support a positive safety culture within two 24/7 Lightweight Aggregate operations.

  • Coordinate, direct, and maintain all environmental systems to ensure compliance with corporate and governmental standards.

  • Develop and implement programs to prevent and solve environmental problems.

  • Work closely with plant operations teams.

  • Ensure compliance with MSHA safety standards.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing facility with Title V Air Operating Permits, preferred.

  • Expert working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding Air Quality, Wastewater, Storm Water, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management.

  • Strong knowledge of training methods, procedures, and techniques.

  • Strong computer skills including data management and presentation, experience in MS Office Suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate with multiple levels of the organization.

  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills for environmental compliance-related variances.

  • Ability to use regulatory database systems for required reports.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Science, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental Science.

  • Strong regulatory experience with MSHA/OSHA.

The schedule is very open to a hybrid schedule, requiring visits to sites as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
