As the Procurement Manager, you will lead a team of strategic sourcing leaders in acquiring materials and manufactured goods while leveraging buying power to increase profit margins and Return on Rental as well as the develop best in class processes to drive service level improvement. This responsibility also involves negotiating prices with vendors and evaluating the quality of available products. Plans and coordinates the activities of purchasing staff, and warehouse involved in purchasing materials, products, and services.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school, or five to ten or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

  • Knowledge of pump, pipe, tank, and manufacturing is preferred.

  • Experience in the rental, manufacturing, agriculture, or industrial industry is preferred.

  • Experience with PC based software required.

  • Experience with implementation of pull-system replenishment systems in supplier/vendor relationships, lean manufacturing.

  • Project management experience required, including demonstrated project management, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Six Sigma. Lean certification, APICS and/or CPM a plus.

  • International sourcing experience desired.

  • Knowledge of liquids handling and storage a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a high-performance culture in the function, resulting in continued success meeting functional KPIs/metrics and improved levels of customer service to internal and external

  • Manage the Company’s procurement process by identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and

  • Identify vendor opportunities and challenges and partner with the departments and branches to ensure appropriate Support goods and services needs for internal customers (branch network).

  • Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders if

  • Assists with selecting and managing suppliers, as well as contracting services.

  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials, coordinate with Fleet, Marketing/Sales, and Engineering to roll out new products.

  • Creates and implements training based on the proper use and functions of company procurement software for branch staff and internal departments.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs and improve service from Vendors. Own and update cost savings KPIs.

  • Analyze, design, plan, manage, and coordinate assigned projects to meet performance targets, project expectations, project timelines and capital spending limits.

  • Control purchasing and warehouse department

  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.

  • Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and to implement change and

  • Collaborate internally to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory

  • Manage the Warehouse staff by ensuring proper inventory levels, storage, retrieval and timely delivery of goods; shipment loading and transferring, document recording data entry into system.

  • Travel to branch and vendor locations as needed to develop strong vendor/branch relationships.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages 7 or more employees in the Procurement Department and Warehouse Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interview, hiring and training employees; planning, and assigning work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Competencies:

  • Strong working knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques as well as operational systems and warehouse

  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem

  • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) capabilities required.

  • Knowledge of Power BI is preferred.

  • Strong written communication and presentation skills required.
