About the role / Segment

The automotive industry is facing stricter emission regulations, changing customer preferences, and technology disruptions. All have in common, that vehicle thermal management is essential for maintaining optimal engine performance and longevity, improving fuel efficiency, ensuring safety, reducing harmful emissions, and providing passenger comfort. It is particularly crucial for the health and efficiency of batteries in electric vehicles (EVs). Effective thermal management also ensures the reliable operation of electronic components, maintains the effectiveness of lubricants, and enhances aerodynamics for better heat dissipation. We, at Siemens Digital Industries Software, are making strategic investments to be competitive in this market by enhancing our vehicle thermal management simulation capabilities within inside Simcenter STAR-CCM+. A vehicle thermal management application specialist plays an important role as a part of this strategy by taking solutions to the market while providing key customer/market insights to the product management and development teams. Our goal is to strengthen our automotive team by adding an experienced Global Application Specialist to expedite our technical presence in the simulation space.

You will be part of a team of technical experts within the Fluid & Thermal Product Management Solution Domain, which works closely with product management, sales, customer support, and marketing to make Simcenter STAR-CCM+ the leading CFD solution for vehicle thermal management applications.

In this role, you will be a global technical resource and a leader. You will be responsible for generating technical materials to support Simcenter product sales, leading complex technical engagements with customers and prospects, managing internal and external technical relationships, and providing business and technical input into the product roadmap.

Area of responsibility

  • Establish authority as a global technical expert in vehicle thermal management (cars, trucks, trains, etc.) and related applications.

  • Grow usage and business of Simcenter STAR-CCM+.

  • Lead and manage technical engagements and collaborations.

  • You are responsible for creating, maintaining, and distributing technical material, including but not limited to, benchmarks, journal/conference papers, best practice guidelines, technical/sales presentations, internal training, and demonstration cases.

  • You will collaborate with industry managers, and sales and support leaders to expedite technical sales, product management, and development to enhance software performance and quality.

  • As a subject matter expert, you are expected to know and communicate the market trends and competitive landscape to guide both product development and sales.

  • Required work experience in simulating vehicle thermal management and related applications.

  • Background in mechanical/aerospace engineering (or related fields) with a specialization in numerical methods for vehicle thermal management, along with relevant job experience.

Your qualifications

Required knowledge, skills, or expertise:

  • Expert user of Simcenter STAR-CCM+ including complex geometry handling

  • Expert knowledge in vehicle thermal management and related applications, such as Engine compartment thermal management, Cabin comfort simulation (Fiala, EHT, Berkeley, etc.), Brake cooling simulation, HVAC systems, Exhaust systems.

  • Knowledge of power electronics cooling and battery thermal management for EVs and hybrids

  • Self-motivating, ability to work independently as well as in a team

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively

  • Good coordination and communication skills in a global environment

  • Basic computer programming

Preferred knowledge, skills, or expertise:

  • Basic knowledge of CAD packages such as Siemens NX and Siemens Teamcenter Simulation (TcSim).

  • Knowledge of other CFD codes and pre-processing tools

  • Basic knowledge of JAVA, Python, and C+ Working at Siemens Software
