About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal PM to join our dynamic team and lead the development and enhancement of our content discovery services and user experience. As a Principal Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in defining the product strategy, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional user experiences. Your expertise and leadership will guide the direction of our search services, ensuring they remain at the forefront of industry trends and customer expectations.

Your efforts will help us scale to >100m customers and become a worldwide top 3 streaming company. You will identify and quantify customer problems, determine approaches to address them, and A/B test different features to solve them. You will be part of a team of Product Managers focused on Personalization, working closely with Software Engineers and Data Scientists. The team has a diverse range of skill-sets, experience in ML, Recommenders, related fields across streaming media, e-commerce, and other hi-tech problem spaces and hails from top-flight tech firms. You will partner with Editorial and Marketing professionals and discuss your efforts regularly with company executives.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have worked on previous ML-based content discovery services reaching millions of customers. You are a self-starter and a good written and verbal communicator with peers and stakeholders. You make decisions rooted in data, are fluent in a/b experimentation, and have instincts for finding insights.

Expectations

As a key contributor for content discovery at WBD, you will:

  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for our services, aligning it with the company's overall goals and objectives. Conduct market research, gather customer insights, and identify opportunities to enhance the recommendation experience.

  • Roadmap Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and business development, to define and prioritize product features, enhancements, and capabilities. Create and manage the product roadmap to ensure timely delivery of milestones and align with business priorities.

  • User Experience: Champion the user-centric approach, continually evaluating and improving the search services to deliver an intuitive, seamless, and personalized user experience. Analyze user feedback, conduct usability testing, and leverage data analytics to drive data-informed decisions.

  • Competitive Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and competitors' offerings in the recommendation services space. Conduct competitive analysis and leverage insights to differentiate and improve our product offering.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including executives, engineering teams, marketing teams, and customer support, to align product strategy with business objectives. Effectively communicate product vision, progress, and challenges to stakeholders at various levels within the organization.

  • Product Launch and Adoption: Collaborate with marketing to develop go-to-market strategies and support the successful launch of new features and products. Monitor product adoption, gather customer feedback, and iterate on product offerings based on user needs and preferences.

  • Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success of search services. Monitor product performance, analyze data, and leverage insights to drive product optimization and continuous improvement.

Skills / Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, or product leadership roles, preferably in the content discovery services industry or related fields.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g. computer science, data sciences, or engineering).

  • Strong understanding of recommendations technologies, algorithms, and user behavior.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing product strategies that drive user engagement and business growth.

  • Solid knowledge of product development methodologies, agile practices, and project management.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to inform product decisions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • A passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and a track record of delivering successful products.

  • Strong technical background, with the ability to understand and contribute to technical discussions with engineering teams.

  • Familiarity with big data platforms, data warehousing, and data mining techniques.

  • Understanding of A/B testing methodologies and the ability to use data to inform product decisions.

  • Experience shipping high quality search and recommendation user experiences: You know how to build simple but effective experiences for sophisticated products and/or data rich platforms

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools such as JIRA.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $193,200.00 - $358,800.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
