Aerotek Industrial Maintenance Technician in Birmingham, Alabama
Description
Must have good mechanical and electrical aptitude with industrial machinery and equipment, and be able to troubleshoot electrical panels and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, schematics, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Uses machine and equipment manuals and electrical ladder diagrams to troubleshoot and identify faulty circuits, wiring, and components in industrial machines and equipment.
Proficient in testing electrical systems using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and insulation testers to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
3-phase, 480V, and industrial troubleshooting experience; assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, machines, motor control circuits, and fixtures.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; establishing personal networks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must have at least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Looking for someone who is 50/50 mechanical/electrical.
PLC and robotic experience preferred.
Must have experience working with 3-phase motors and 480V wiring.
Must be able to read ladder diagrams.
Must have basic hand tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
