National Salvage and Service is seeking to hire a Welder / Fabricator for the Fleet Division in Bloomington, IN
National Salvage & Service is a sustainable company, we recycle nearly all the material we salvage. This practice not only keeps these materials out of landfills, improving the environment; it also saves our customers significant amounts of money, reducing the cost of a job and adding to profit.
National is a leading wholesale provider of used railroad ties and new railroad ties and other treated hardwood railroad track products, as well as recycled utility poles.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintain knowledge and adherence to all safety policies
Create quality welds
Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
Prepare product to be welded by grinding and cutting parts to proper dimensions
Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
Monitor Equipment and request maintenance when needed
Help keep scrap and waste to a minimum and be efficient in use of all supplies
Perform manual tasks in a way that meets or exceeds the required production level
Qualifications:
Ability to meet deadlines and be self-motivated
Mig & stick welding: 3 years (Required)
Ability to work without supervision for extended time periods
Must be able to work in noisy, non air-conditioned/heated work area
Ability to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring tools
Need experience using mig and stick welding processes
Must have skills in cutting with torches and plasma cutters
