Purpose/Introduction
We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our Borger Team as the Operations Manager. The Operations Manager holds accountability for the Borger Plant Process Units, Material Loading and Unloading Facilities, Fuels Blending Facilities, and Technical oversight of Chevron Phillips Chemical Process Units located in the Borger Complex. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is a member of the Borger Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates safe behaviors and a commitment to Operational Excellence (OE) and Tenets of Operation in a process plant environment.
Directs safety activities in the operating areas including safety audits, incident investigations, implementation of LOPA action items, and the establishment of overall safety leadership for those areas.
Plans, prioritizes, coordinates and aligns Operations activities to ensure that necessary demands in the units are met safely.
Works with Maintenance and Technical groups to drive site reliability, including identification and elimination of bad actors.
Ensure Operations ownership and compliance with the Operations and Maintenance Work Process (OMWP) to focus the facility on planned work and quality repairs.
Sets strategic direction for the operating areas, directs prioritization and execution of large and small capital and expense projects, prepares annual budget, oversees coordination of maintenance activities, leads continuous improvement efforts, and executes other plant and company initiatives.
Works with Specialty Chemicals Commercial team, Research and Technology and Global Process Engineering to optimize product portfolios, plan production, and resolve business and customer issues.
Directs environmental compliance of the operating areas including proper compliance reporting, investigation of incidents, initiation of environmental improvement projects, and preparation of Title V operating permit compliance reports.
Develop objectives and metrics, including personal development goals, with direct reports that support department priorities.
Responsible for personnel supervisory activities including fair and consistent administration of Plant and Company policies, training and development, maintaining work group expertise, mentoring, and regular coaching.
Works with a represented workforce to resolve issues related to union contract disputes and interpretations
Provides key direction for complex improvement teams
Required Qualifications
Engineering Degree with at least 10 years of experience or a High School diploma/GED with at least 15 years of related experience
Previous MLL / Superintendent experience
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Strong skills in conflict resolution and change management
Able to persuade and negotiate ideas to plant personnel
Results-oriented to drive improvement and work efficiency
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to all levels of an organization
Ability to coordinate multi-disciplined teams
Preferred Qualifications
