TEKsystems Technology Equipment Technician in Buffalo, New York

OVERVIEW:

Serves as a specialist in a group of services supported within the Corporate ReUse department. Manages the project queue for their area ensuring technological equipment is configured to conform to established guidelines. Completes activities related to installations, configurations, operations of systems hardware & software related to corporate technology equipment. Serves as a direct point of contact to clients and customers in the sale of refurbished technology equipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with Technology management, engineers and support teams on a regular basis to implement and manage the disposition of all technology equipment to include Laptops, Desktops, Thin Clients, Workstations, Tablets, Apple iPhones, iPads, MiFi devices, MICR Readers, BIC Scanners, Journal Printers, Joggers and any peripheral equipment. Respond to and resolve escalations on moderately to highly complex issues using diagnostic tools available. Maintain and track repair inventory log for all devices and equipment.

Represent Corporate ReUse Team with Service Now issues platform which includes infrastructure review, implementation and design, creation of support, standards, policies, analysis and testing. Triage and process all Service Now orders and tickets to ensure business continuity for new equipment and break/fix replacement devices. Participate in Service Now enhancement meetings to communicate needs to the department to product owners and other stakeholders. Participate in software testing as necessary.

Coordinates the discovery, transport and evaluation of unused equipment throughout the Bank. Perform an assessment of quality and condition of equipment to estimate potential resale value. Perform refurbishment of salvageable items for profitable sale to maximize return or benefit to the Bank. Participates in the retail sale of equipment to employees and external parties.

Produce daily inventory reports of stored technology equipment valued to ensure supply is available to meet corporate volume demands.

Serves as a direct point of contact to clients and customers in the sale of refurbished technology equipment. Responsible for understanding client and customer needs to provide the best recommendation of equipment and devices to be sold.

Facilitate meetings and conference calls with vendors, and internal staff. Coordinate vendor interactions and/or vendor resources as needed.

Follow and promote use of industry best practices, standards and procedures. Recommend and initiate new policies and procedures that improve performance and effectiveness of the Department.

Maintain a strong aptitude and working knowledge of bank applications, systems development environments. Maintain a detailed understanding of vendor technologies and services used.

Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of 4 years higher education and/or work experience.

Strong understanding of the system development and infrastructure lifecycle and architecture, vendor best practices, IT service management and systems design.

Verifiable knowledge and advance expertise in industry and/or vendor technologies.

Able to meet with clients of varying levels to gather, document, and analyze system specifications and requirements, work closely with integrators, developers and testers in the fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in team environment.

Ability to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision.

HP Commercial Desktops, Workstations and Notebook Service Qualification (if not certified at time of hire, must obtain certification within 6 months of entry into role).

Comp TIA A+ + CE Certification (if not certified at time of hire, must obtain certification within 1 year of entry into role).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

Bachelors degree in technology-related field.

Minimum of 5 years higher education and/or work experience.

Certifications or special training in related technologies.

Demonstrate advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of how people, processes and technology within an organization interact to recommend and implement feasible solutions on projects of medium to high complexity.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Effective influencing skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
