Job Title: Fire Sprinkler Inspector

Job Description

The Fire Sprinkler Inspector is responsible for inspecting and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are in proper working order and meet safety standards. The primary role of the inspector is to conduct regular inspections of the system, including the valves, pipes, and sprinkler heads, to ensure they are functioning properly and are free of any damage or defects. Additionally, they are responsible for performing any necessary repairs or maintenance on the system, and for documenting their findings to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of fire sprinkler systems, including valves, pipes, and sprinkler heads.

  • Ensure all components are functioning properly and free of damage or defects.

  • Perform necessary repairs or maintenance on the fire sprinkler systems.

  • Document findings and maintain accurate records.

  • Travel to customer sites in South Jersey using your own vehicle.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and test equipment such as multimeters, battery analyzers, frequency meters, and decibel meters.

  • Experience in inspection, construction, plumbing, and general labor.

  • Excellent communication skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, and be on call to respond to emergency situations.

  • Ability to work alternative shifts or work nights.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Fire suppression experience is helpful.

  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

  • Repair experience.

  • Backflow certification.

  • NICET Level 2 certification in water-based systems.

Work Environment

You will be inspecting existing commercial buildings' sprinkler systems. The role may require working alternative shifts, nights, and being on call for emergency situations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
