Description

Amazon is looking for an Operations Manager to be based in an Fulfillment Center (FC) in Cajamar region and work in Administrative shift (5x2 from 8 am to 6 pm).

The Operations Manager has complete responsibility for all processes within a warehouse across multiple shifts. Reporting to the Outbound (OB) Sr. Ops Manager, you will be directly responsible for a team of Operations Leaders and their direct reports. You will work to continuously improve the functionality and level of service that we provide our customers, resulting in exceeded productivity goals and delivery against our customer promises

As an OB Operations Manager you will:

  • Account for transfer-out, vendor returns and liquidation processes in accordance with network strategies, ensuring consistency with labor planning;

  • Lead and supervise a team of Operations Leaders and hourly associates in an Operation that run 24x7;

  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance and customer/vendor experience.

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

  • Be accountable for meeting and exceeding operational goals.

  • Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.

  • Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning.

  • Develop and share best practices across the shifts and network.

  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Support safety programs and compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all Associates.

  • Manage and drive staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, performance levels, process change initiatives, and other Process Improvement/ Six Sigma initiatives to enable Operations and to attain the Business Plan.

  • Manage a team of many employees within a very fast-paced/ time-critical and demanding environment. This will include the setup and implementation of career development plans for all your Direct Reports, also motivating associates and reducing turnover.

  • Manage multiple shifts directly and a major process directly or indirectly – becoming a subject matter expert in your area.

  • Set / clarify requirements and expectations for Area Managers and Team Leaders.

  • Work closely with other support teams (HR, Financial Manager, Facilities Manager, Safety & Security Manager, IT Manager) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.

  • Benchmark, implement change and/or develop new processes as required.

  • Participate from time to time in cross-functional Process and Business Improvement projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • Employee and performance management experience

  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

  • Performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Administration, Economy, Data Processing, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or any correlated degrees;

  • Fluent Portuguese and Advanced English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Post Graduate Degree;

  • SQL and Advanced Excel.
