This position is responsible for the supervision of all payroll functions in the United States and Canada. This includes ensuring reviews are properly performed for all payroll and time processes, ensuring procedures are current and in effect, ensuring all internal controls are in place, ensuring all taxes are correctly deducted and reported, and ensuring payroll is generated accurately and on time.

This position may be based in either the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area or the greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partners with the Human Resource team to ensure the processes to support both time and payroll are effective and efficient. Provides guidance on the time and pay policies.

  • Manages the configuration within the time and payroll systems for accuracy and completeness.

  • Directs the review of all time and payroll data submitted to ensure the appropriate hours, rates of pay, adjustments, new personnel, and all exceptions to payroll are correct.

  • Directs and approves the review of all payroll information when completed to ensure that all are being paid in compliance with company policy.

  • Directs and approves the review of all payroll deductions to ensure accuracy.

  • Manages the outsourced garnishment program to ensure the accurate completion and submission for payment to the proper authority.

  • Responsible for all reporting on a timely and accurate basis, including all interfaces such as ACH, positive pay, tax files and 401k.

  • Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.

  • Prepares or directs the preparation of W-2 information to ensure compliance with tax laws.

  • Responsible for the preparation or review of journal entries and reconciliations for payroll and related payroll functions.

  • Coach and mentor both the Gross to Net and the Payroll Services team effectively.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience managing a US based time and payroll function utilizing a major SAS application across many states including California.

  • Holds a Certified Payroll Professional designation

  • Experience administering time and payroll using UKG systems.

  • 10+ years of supervisory experience.

  • Well versed in the Time Administration and Payroll requirements and standards within the United States and an appreciation for such requirements outside of the United States.

  • Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively coach and mentor team members.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and tax regulations.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of an organization.

  • Knowledge of government taxing regulations.

  • Associate degree from an accredited two-year college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Experience managing a Canadian Time and Payroll system
