Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking an expert Java software engineer for an exciting opportunity within our Intel Community.

Working as an expert software engineer, you will collaborate with a team of visionaries to reframe the context of problems and chart a path to deliver innovative solutions. You will embrace our fail-fast philosophy to rapidly deliver game changing innovations on a marquee program. You will use a mixture of AWS Services and technologies such as Java, Python, Graph Databases, Code Generators, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning.

You will troubleshoot and identify root causes of complex technical issues. You will anticipate challenges, mitigate risks, and track and monitor trends to proactively solve problems. Your expertise will play a critical role in providing the revolutionary new capabilities that our clients have come to expect from us.

This position is located in our Chantilly, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Contribute to our thought leadership collective to develop a vision and then fail fast to build data driven Code Generators to accelerate solution delivery.

• Support modeling of DevSecOps processes to automate generation of CI/CD scripts for a rapidly evolving code set.

• Identify opportunities to revolutionize legacy practices into significant value improvement for the customer.

• Contribute to briefs and technical exchange meetings to support customer acceptance of impactful innovation.

• Manage the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and support) using an Agile Methodology.

• Embrace agile methodologies and the advantages it brings to communication, flexibility, and delivering working code.

• Work with business analysts to gather, document, and understand specific requirements to design technical software solutions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or a related field.

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in software development.

• Experience with Java/JEE, Spring/Spring Boot, JSON, XML, MVC Frameworks, JavaScript.

• Familiarity with Version Control Systems such as GIT or SVN.

• Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.

• Familiarity with Database query language and concepts/designs of large-scale database systems.

• Experience with creating / using APIs, and familiarity with common integration technologies such as REST, SOAP, and or pub/sub.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $158,900.00 - $305,800.00.
