Curtiss Wright EMD Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Cheswick, Pennsylvania
Designs and analyzes complex electro-mechanical components and systems. Conducts studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs others in the development of design information for use in drawings and specifications. Serves as leader for small technical teams.

Your Challenge:
Provides engineering design and analysis to assess new and existing equipment to optimize efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, and interprets results, conducts analysis, and writes analysis and test reports. Capable of drawing conclusions and reconciling differences between predicted values and actual results.
Plans and coordinates the design and analysis of complex engineering solutions including documentation, reporting, publishing, and making technical or other presentations to ensure visibility of the solutions in an evolving environment.
Designs new equipment and machinery as conceived to support program and project needs. Assists in building, installing, debugging, and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities.
Determines technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems. Provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses. Leads technical efforts for design review activities.
Leads technical teams in design and analytical activities for product design and development and production.
Mentors less experienced engineers and is involved in development of their skills.
What You Bring:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
10 years work experience dealing with manufacture and design of engineered products.
Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators and propulsors).
Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, GD&T, CAD systems, CAE systems.
Ability to perform analysis and studies with strong attention to details in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to create models and drawings and perform trade studies and design reviews. Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities. Must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Must be a sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
