Aerotek EDM Operator in Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Description

As an EDM Operator, you will perform essential operations on EDM machines, including loading and unloading parts, inspecting parts, preparing and changing electrodes, and ensuring machine maintenance. You will also be responsible for documenting machine operations, entering data into a computer, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Responsibilities

  • Operate EDM machines, including loading and unloading parts

  • Inspect parts and prepare and change electrodes (training provided)

  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor adjustments on EDM machines

  • Document machine operations and daily production in logs and records

  • Enter required data into computer systems

  • Transport parts to appropriate locations using rolling tables

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area

  • Review and refer to various records, reports, SOPs, and safety sheets

  • Prepare labor sheets and non-conformance forms

  • Communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and other shop personnel

  • Set up and switch jobs as required (training provided)

  • Ensure production efficiency exceeds 98% daily

  • Maintain excellent attendance

  • Verify all parts are conforming before signing off on traveler

  • Track all scrap and seek corrective action

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Basic computer skills

  • Mechanical aptitude

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • CNC or other machine operation experience

  • Aerospace experience

  • EDM experience

  • Experience with micrometers and calipers

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
