Job Title: Cook
Immediate Supervisor: * Dietary Director *
Basic Function: The cook is responsible for working with the dietary team in order to provide healthy eating options for the clients at Hope Valley Recovery.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
- Prepare, season, cook and serve for assigned meal; ensure appropriate portioned servings according to portion control standards.
- Prepare nutritional snacks for clients as directed by the Facilities Director.
- Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods through food preparation and service to ensure that established temperature goals are met prior to steam table transfer and maintained throughout meal service.
- Notify Facilities Director of food, supplies, or equipment needs, report equipment breakdowns and unsafe conditions to Facilities Director.
- Order food and supply items based on the needs of the kitchen and facility.
- Clean equipment and work areas as assigned by the Facilities Director.
- Perform other department duties assigned by the Facilities Director.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen after each meal and shift.

Education and Training:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1-yeear food service experience in a health care dietary setting is preferred
- General knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving
