A Glimpse of the Job
The Financial Accountant I performs entry-level professional accounting
Essential Duties/Tasks:
Audit Vouchers
Review Payment Request and invoices in AggieBuy for compliance with the State of Texas and TAMU System rules and regulations.
Performs accounting work to include the recording, examining, and analyzing financial records, documents or reports.
Prepares and analyzes financial transactions. Audits accounting and financial documents for accuracy and completeness.
Reconciles accounts
Researches discrepancies and reports findings
Answers general accounting questions
Provides technical assistance regarding accounting procedures
Assures compliance with standards, policies and procedures.
Process FAMIS documents
- Review medical, indemnity, royalty and outside counsel vouchers in FAMIS
Commodity Code Assignment
- Review requisitions and invoices and assign appropriate commodity codes
Reports
Review vouchers and take necessary actions on those vouchers

Salary: $46,924.80 annually

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. No experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to comprehend, apply and enforce rules and regulations.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet programs and bookkeeping procedures.
Previous Texas A&M University experience.
