Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the design, planning, performing and coordinating experiments in support of various research projects.

  • Works with mice, collects and analyzes biological samples and manages mice colonies.

  • Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data.

  • Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, technical evaluation of research experiments and results.

  • Assists in preparing and writing proposals to funding agencies; maintains financial accounts related to research projects.

  • Installs, operates and maintains research equipment.

  • Assists with reports, invoices, and cataloging records.

  • Maintains cell cultures as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with mice.

  • Experience with cell culture.

  • Experience with major cell biology, biochemistry, and/or molecular biology techniques.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team.

  • Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others

  • Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to maintain lab notes, populate databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks.
