About Prodeo Academy

Prodeo Academy is a network of high-performing public charter schools in Minnesota dedicated to preparing every scholar for success in college and life. We believe that running exceptional schools requires outstanding instructional leadership and operational excellence. Our operations leaders work to ensure that our educators can focus on student achievement by creating seamless, efficient, and responsive operational systems.

The Opportunity

The Director of Operations in Residence (“the Resident”) is a full-time, immersive role designed to develop future Directors of Operations (DOOs) for Prodeo Academy. The Resident will gain hands-on experience in school operations while receiving targeted coaching and professional development to prepare for the DOO role. This role is a critical component of our commitment to building strong operational leadership that supports our mission of academic excellence.

Join Us If you are a strategic and solutions-oriented leader looking to grow in school operations and make a lasting impact on scholars and families, we invite you to apply for the Director of Operations in Residence program at Prodeo Academy.

Core Elements of the Residency

  1. School-Based Operations Experience (50%)
  • The Resident will be embedded in an existing Prodeo Academy school, serving as a member of the operations team.

  • The Resident will be assigned various duties within the DOO scope of work in alignment with the Resident's learning plan and the needs of the school-based operations team.

  • Assigned areas of responsibility over the course of the residency will include coaching and managing operations team members, family partnership, facilities management, school safety, school compliance, finance and budget, technology, transportation, food service, and event coordination.

  1. Special Projects Capacity (40%)
  • The Resident will lead and support special projects that align with Prodeo's strategic priorities. These projects may be focused on either school-based operations or Prodeo's Network Support team.

  • The Resident's special projects work will be directed by the Network Director of Operations.

  1. Structured Professional Development (10%)
  • The Resident will engage in structured professional learning on topics such as systems design, team management, time and task prioritization, communication strategies, and data-driven decision-making.

  • They will receive mentorship from experienced school operations leaders and external experts.

  • The Resident will also participate in professional development through a combined cohort model with Principals in Residence (PIRs).

  • Opportunities to lead cross-functional operational projects will provide exposure to network-wide priorities and initiatives.

  1. Coaching, Feedback, and Evaluation
  • The Resident will receive regular coaching from a host DOO and the Network Director of Operations.

  • An individualized development plan will guide their growth, with targeted feedback on leadership, problem-solving, and operational execution.

  • The Resident will participate in operations leadership meetings, engaging with other operational leaders across the Prodeo network to discuss best practices and strategic challenges.

  1. Placement and Future Opportunities
  • The anticipated residency term is July 2025 through June 2026. The length of the residency may be shorter than one year if a DOO vacancy occurs mid-school-year and the Resident has met DOO readiness requirements. Similarly, the Resident is not guaranteed placement in a permanent DOO role at the end of the residency if a DOO role is not available or the Resident has not met the readiness qualifications to make that transition.

    Qualifications

  • Passionate commitment to Prodeo Academy's mission and belief in the power of operational excellence to drive student success.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions.

  • Exceptional ability to manage time and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a range of stakeholders, including school staff, families, and external partners.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate complex operational challenges with adaptability.

  • Dedication to continuous learning, self-reflection, and professional growth.

  • Experience in school operations, education, or a related field preferred.

  • Leadership or management experience preferred.

  • A minimum of four years of work experience.
