Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Responsible for performing both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on equipment. Mechanical troubleshooting includes hydraulics, ball screw replacement, gear boxes, rebuilding gear boxes. Electrical troubleshooting experience would include being able to read a multimeter, troubleshoot contacts, relays, proximity switches, photo eyes. Candidates will also troubleshoot 3 Phase motors up to 480V and will be responsible for the wiring and rebuild of any motor utilized in the plant. When candidates aren't performing a repair they are responsible for performing preventative maintenance or training themselves on troubleshooting robotics with the tools provided by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting on hydraulics, ball screws, and gear boxes.

  • Rebuild gear boxes as needed.

  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting including reading a multimeter, troubleshooting contacts, relays, proximity switches, and photo eyes.

  • Troubleshoot and repair 3 Phase motors up to 480V, including wiring and rebuilding motors used in the plant.

  • Perform preventative maintenance when not engaged in repair work.

  • Train on troubleshooting robotics using company-provided tools.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience or heavy equipment experience.

  • 1+ year of electrical troubleshooting experience on 3 Phase Motors up to 480V, Proximity Switches, contacts, relays, and other motors.

  • 1+ year of hydraulic troubleshooting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of PLC's/ladder logic or ability to read inputs/outputs is a plus.

Work Environment

Work hours are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a rotating shift schedule: Monday and Tuesday on, Wednesday and Thursday off, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on; and the shift rotates the following week. Training is conducted on the first shift and can last anywhere between 3-9 months. The workplace is a non-temperature controlled automotive manufacturing plant, which can get extremely hot in the summer. It is a fast-paced work environment with highly monitored pace of work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
