Siemens Digital Industries is looking for a growth-minded individual to join our team to propel our business development. In this role, you will partner closely with both our larger strategy team and business segments, playing a pivotal role in shaping our company's acquisition-focused growth trajectory by (i) linking external technology advances with strategic objectives and (ii) building out a cohesive framework to accelerate development of pipeline opportunities (iii) craft a vision and strategy around horizontal technology and adjacent markets.

In this role, you will drive multiple development frameworks, collaborate with internal stakeholders to align on direction, and execute key initiatives to propel our inorganic growth efforts forward.

Essential Objectives:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and refine inorganic development strategy in alignment with the company's overarching goals and objectives. Evaluate market trends, the competitive landscape, and growth opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.

  2. Segment Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and business segments to identify inorganic growth opportunities that complement and enhance our capabilities. Collaborate effectively to ensure cohesive direction and alignment across the organization.

  3. Search Field Development: Lead the identification and evaluation of criteria that produce potential acquisition targets, strategic partners, and investment opportunities. Build robust search fields and conduct thorough due diligence to assess fit, feasibility, and potential value creation.

  4. Horizontal Plays and Adjacent Markets: Formulate and execute strategies for leveraging horizontal technologies and expanding reach within adjacent markets, focusing on how elements within a software ecosystem interplay. Identify synergistic growth opportunities and develop comprehensive plans to capitalize on these opportunities through acquisition strategy.

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, disruptive technologies, and potential inorganic growth opportunities across various industries.

  • Develop a deep understanding of industry verticals, focusing on identifying and capitalizing on strategic growth opportunities.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand their growth objectives and tailor inorganic strategies accordingly.

  • Think strategically and creatively to identify potential targets and craft compelling inorganic growth plans to deliver maximum organizational value.

  • Stay apprised and apply the latest trends in inorganic growth strategies and best practices across different industries.

What Abilities You Bring:

  • Experience in corporate development, strategy consulting, or a related field focusing on inorganic growth.

  • A strategic mind with exceptional research and problem-solving skills. You excel at identifying and dissecting complex business challenges.

  • A knack for storytelling, crafting persuasive narratives that showcase the strategic value of each inorganic area of focus.

  • Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex strategies to diverse audiences.

  • Experience developing and executing horizontal technology strategies, particularly in data-driven and analytics search fields.

  • Comprehensive understanding of SW landscapes and how they relate to PLM and EDA business processes and technologies, including within adjacent markets

  • Exceptional leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives from concept to execution.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or technical field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

  • Specialized vertical and sector expertise with a lens on industrial software applications; pharmaceutical and/or data preferred

  • Proven experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, or related fields, with a focus on strategy development and execution.

  • Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset, with the ability to evaluate complex business opportunities and drive informed decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • A track record of successfully identifying, evaluating, and building growth strategies.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Siemens Software. Transform the Everyday

The salary range for this position is $140,100 to $252,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
