Your Opportunity
Stantec’s Community Development team is growing in Atlantic Canada and we are leading an increasing amount number of exciting planning and development projects with multi-disciplinary and integrated service offerings. This includes projects in the private and public sectors such as redevelopment plans, new community and town center plans, housing studies, streetscape and infrastructure projects, and a variety of urban planning related projects.
We are seeking a Planning and Public Consultation Specialist within our Community Development team ideally based in our Moncton, Halifax, Fredericton, or Charlottetown offices. The role spans a broad range of disciplines and would suit an individual who relishes project execution and delivery, working with multi-discipline collaborative teams and communities, helping to drive project outcomes, and has an eagerness to learn.
Your focus in this role will be ensuring consistent and high-quality work and expertise to inform and offer value to our clients. You will also have opportunity to work on projects, interface with clients, and collaborate internally. As a 32,000-person interdisciplinary firm, the business and career opportunities within Stantec are extensive. While part of this larger team, your work will primarily be based within a collaborative planning and design team serving our Atlantic Canadian market.
Your Key Responsibilities
Coordinating, preparing and delivering virtual and in-person engagement activities for project and business development work.
Preparation of plans, supporting figures, and graphics using AutoCAD and other design software.
Data management, statistical analysis, and other technical support tasks.
Organize and support various virtual and in-person public engagement activities for project and business development work.
Researching and compiling information on a variety of planning issues.
Communicating and collaborating with other multi-disciplinary team members on relevant aspects of projects.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Knowledge and experience in organizing and executing public consultation programs and events.
Knowledge and experience of planning terminology, practices, procedures, standards and work methods in the Atlantic Region.
Exhibits a high standard of quality, accuracy and attention to detail in design work.
Ability to multi-task within specific time constraints.
Excellent communication both written and oral, along with strong problem-solving skills. The ability to communicate in French would be considered an asset.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop would be considered an asset.
Education and Experience
A University degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Political Science, Public Administration, Media and Communications or equivalent. Professional membership in a planning association is not required.
Technical Diploma in Planning from a recognized Institute of Technology or College and experience in private and public sector community planning may also be considered.
An understanding of a current version of AutoCAD/Civil 3D design software and Microsoft Office suite. Additional experience or knowledge of ArcGIS, 3D Studio, Rhino, Sketchup, etc. would be considered an asset.

Salary Range(s):
- $67,200 - $97,500 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in PEI
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
