Chewy is seeking a Food Safety Program Manager!

Our Opportunity:
You will support the continued growth of our Fulfillment Network. Responsible for partnering with the Site Operations team, Inventory Control, Learning, Quality, and Facility teams to manage the network food safety programs. Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the food safety program by providing technical leadership for pest control, sanitation, good distribution practices, temperature control, and other facets of title 21 of the code of federal regulations. You will also work cross functionally to perform risk assessments and provide guidance on corrective measures.
What you'll do:
Supervise food safety programs across 4-5 fulfillment centers
Audit Fulfillment Centers (FC) on a regular cadence and provide direct feedback to the site leadership regarding findings
Initiate and propose closure of corrective actions taken
Provide input for potential preventive and corrective actions to be taken
Develop, implement, and coordinate training for food safety initiatives, policies, and procedures
Work closely with Quality and Supply Chain to mitigate negative customer feedback
Provide technical mentorship on pest exclusion, sanitation, temperature control and good distribution practices
Evaluate equipment and activities around the FC network against risk assessments and internal policies
Track, trend and analyze data to investigate pest control findings, customer complaints and implement strategies to improve programs and policies
What you'll need:
Bachelors in Chemistry, Biology, Food Safety, Food Science, Environmental Engineering or related technical field is required
Minimum of 5+ years in Managing Food Safety Programs in a distribution, warehousing, and/or manufacturing setting
Must be a Qualified Individual by FDA definition and have comprehensive experience of FDA regulations and how to apply them, specifically 21 CFR 502, 117, and 1
Comprehension and practical application of risk assessments a well as analyzing and verifying record data, implement and lead corrective measures, and to perform a hazard analysis of both commodity types and processes
Trained in data collection and management software (Excel, Smartsheet, Tableau, Power BI, SQL etc.)
Strong communication, partnership, analysis, judgement, customer and vendor focus skills
Work optimally and efficiently under pressure while leading extensive demands and tight targets
Experience leading change in multiple site environments
Must be willing to travel up to 50%
