Position Summary

The Athletic Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Athletic Director in the overall operations of the Calhoun Community College intercollegiate athletics department.

Salary: Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule E1, Grade 1: $56,139 - $73,632

Work Hours:Monday through Thursday, 7:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.; Friday 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist with athletic compliance implementing all institutional, ACCC, NJCAA policies, rules, and regulations regarding recruitment, financial aid, and eligibility of student-athletes.
  2. Build and maintain collegial relationships with members of other departments who assist in student-athlete compliance/eligibility. (i.e.- Registrar, Financial Aid, Admissions, and Academic Advising).
  3. Report any compliance violations to the Athletic Director.
  4. Design, organize, and maintain documentation utilized for monitoring rules compliance.
  5. Assist in confirming eligibility certification for every semester and new season.
  6. Assist with the production of press releases, newsletters, media guides and game programs in collaboration with Calhoun CC Public Relations Department.
  7. Assist in managing athletics website in collaboration with Calhoun CC Public Relations Department.
  8. Assist with student-athlete awards nominations for ACCC, NJCAA, and other organizations.
  9. Assist in production of content for the Warhawk Athletics social media platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) in collaboration with Calhoun CC Public Relations - including creating graphics
  10. Assist in management of athletic department streaming/video at home athletic events.
  11. Respond to requests for information from media personnel and the public.
  12. Plan, coordinate, and manage special events including press conferences, and media days in collaboration with Calhoun CC Public Relations Department.
  13. Assist in scheduling transportation for athletics.
  14. Assist in home athletic event management including coordinating concessions.
  15. Assist in advising student-athletes in collaboration with Calhoun CC Advising.
  16. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external constituencies.
  17. Be prompt and punctual in reporting for work. Maintain assigned office hours.
  18. Maintain or increase competency by seeking new knowledge and updating professional competencies.
  19. Become familiar with institutional policies and procedures as outlined in the College Catalog, Personnel Handbo k, and State Board Policy Manual; and follow such policies and procedures.
  20. Promote positive and productive relationships with service area businesses, industries, and agencies.
  21. Serve on committees engaged in furthering the work of the institution when appointed or when elected.
  22. Perform other professional duties and responsibilities with professionalism as may be assigned.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in athletics is required. Athletic experience at the high school and/or collegiate level preferred.
  2. Competency in the use of current educational technologies and understanding of basic computer skills and presentation software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.) is required.
