Weyerhaeuser Operations Manager in Edson, Alberta

Weyerhaeuser’s Edson, OSB manufacturing mill is seeking an Operations Manager to be an integral member of the site leadership team. The Operations Manager is responsible for safely leading the production teams to exceed operationalexcellencegoals.
The operations manager must have a solid understanding of manufacturing and maintenance processes along with the ability to share this knowledge to safely drive continuous improvement.
Key Functions:
- Role model safety standards, caring leadership, and on-the-job behavior by living Weyerhaeuser Core Values.
- Champion inclusive leadership and the development of the next generation of leaders.
- Lead the site in developing, implementing, managing, and enforcing safety policies, procedures, practices, and projects.
- Lead/develop manufacturing in a manner that drives continuous improvement in both mill performance and organizational design.
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation in assigned area.
- Own and improve production and inventory costs.
- Manage performance of direct reports by setting goals and ensuring accountability of site and business expectations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, provincial, and local laws, and regulations.
- Display financial acumen by managing budgets including capital planning, contributing to controllable margin, and optimizing financial levers
- Facilitate change and lead others to adapt and anticipate change.
Maintain long-term big picture view to forecast obstacles and opportunities
Bachelor's degree in applicable field is an asset.
- Minimum of 3-5 years leadership experience in OSB or wood products manufacturing required.
- Demonstrated safety leadership within a manufacturing environment.
- Customer focused approach.
- Ability to lead and empower work teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to plan, organize and analyze results.
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $106,800 - $157,400.00 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
