Overview:
The Personal Lines Unit Manager is responsible for the administration and operation of the Personal Lines Unit Staff in assigned locations; supervising assigned personnel and the direct handling and servicing of accounts in accordance with the practices, policies and procedures of the Company. This role requires an individual who is professional and who displays the drive, determination, and self-motivation to lead a team of Account Managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct the services of the department
Supervise and direct department personnel (Account Managers and Account Techs) including training, motivation, and performance appraisals
Work with Operations Leader and staff to develop performance management and career paths/succession planning
Work in conjunction with the Operations Leader in the hiring or dismissal of personnel within the personal lines department
Monitor, balance, and coordinate workloads among department personnel
Promote account rounding and cross selling
Provide technical knowledge and expertise to department personnel regarding appropriate coverage
Oversee, with the assistance of our Quality Control department, the quality control review process to assure the production of quality work and the provision of excellent customer service
Work with Sales to maintain synergy with Hub International corporate goals, our carrier requirements, and the needs of our clients
Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve. May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers
Pursue professional studies and maintain familiarity with trends in the industry and new insurance products
Improve/refine professional and supervisory skills through continuing education
Establish and maintain good working relationships with company sales representatives, underwriting and claim representatives
Other responsibilities as assigned by Regional Operations Leader
Work and Education Experience Requirements:
MUST hold current Property/Casualty License in resident state; includes maintaining by meeting all continuation education and other requirements
Extensive insurance knowledge and experience
High school diploma or equivalency; some college preferred
Supervisory experience
Thorough knowledge of Personal Lines coverages and markets
Experience with agency management system
Experience with Microsoft Office products
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, listening, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
