Job Description Summary
The Small Uncrewed Engines (SUE) team is seeking a skilled and energetic mechanical systems engineer to join our fast-paced and high energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems for small uncrewed engines (thrust class 500#-8000#). You will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives, particularly as related to multiple small uncrewed applications for future military aircraft systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) are met.

Roles and Responsibilities
Manage scope, schedules, coordination, and execution of small uncrewed engines
Coordinate with internal and externals customers on technical and installation requirements
Manage interface control documents with the customer.
Lead cross functional teams in the execution of programs
Lead and provide key technical direction on projects with critical business impact
Assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
Respond to request for proposals and request for information from external customers
Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within the work group
Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers
Communicate with management on technical, financial and programmatic issues.
Ensure proper documentation of technical efforts
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in mechanical systems design and development, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in design engineering
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain US government security clearance
Desired Characteristics
Direct Design and Manufacturing experience of engine lube scavenge and bearings
Familiarity with GE Aerospace's FLIGHT DECK operating model.
Experience working with DoD customer and processes
Experience working early engine development and integration programs
Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated experience working with and presenting to customers
Existing DoD Security Secret Clearance
Working knowledge of CAMEO and program managing software (such as MS Project).
