LOCATION OF POSITION:Monroe One BOCES – 11 Linden Park, Rochester, NY 14625; Technology Services
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:12-Month Position, Full-Time
STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
SALARY RANGE:$17.00 - $23.50 per hour
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES:
Trouble shoot, repair, install, and test computer hardware and software systems, peripherals, and other computer related components as well as multimedia equipment.
Connect cables, run diagnostics, and test hardware performance.
Provide on-going support for all computer hardware and multimedia systems.
Assist as needed in other areas of expertise.
Update and maintain certifications as required.
Maintain and update equipment inventory.
Additional responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Civil Service eligibility asMicrocomputer Maintenance Technician: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a certificate or Associate's degree in Microcomputer Maintenance Repair; OR
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in a computer science or information technology field; OR
(C) One (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in maintenance and repair of microcomputersandrelated equipment; OR
(D) Possession of the following active Industry Standard Certification: Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) A+ Certification; OR
(E) An equivalent combination of education and experience defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
Note: Applicants qualifying under option (D) must submit a copy of the certificate.
Knowledge of common software applications.
Familiarity of computer and audiovisual equipment and terminology.
Good personal communications skills.
Valid Driver’s license and transportation.
Strong mechanical skill set.
Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation) including, but not limited to climbing ladders and lifting 50 pounds.
