POSITION PURPOSE
The Global Health Coordinator and Concierge plays a vital role in ensuring seamless access to high-quality healthcare services for patients at our faith-based healthcare organization. This position is responsible for facilitating referrals, coordinating patient services, and providing personalized support to both domestic and international patients seeking care.
Grounded in the organization's mission and values, the Global Health Coordinator and Concierge serves as a compassionate liaison between patients, providers, and external partners, ensuring a smooth healthcare journey. This role requires exceptional communication, cultural competency, and organizational skills to navigate complex healthcare systems while upholding the organization’s commitment to holistic, patient-centered care.
Key responsibilities include coordinating medical appointments, travel logistics, and follow-up care; providing financial and insurance guidance; and supporting patients and their families with language and cultural accommodations. By fostering meaningful connections and offering comprehensive care navigation, this position enhances the patient experience and strengthens the organization’s global outreach and ministry of healing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Patient Navigation & Referral Coordination
Utilize Epic EMR to schedule, track, and manage patient referrals, ensuring timely access to medical care and services. Coordinate appointments, diagnostic tests, and specialty consultations while maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in Epic. Monitor referral statuses and follow up with providers, patients, and external partners to prevent delays in care. Facilitate communication between internal departments and external healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination of patient care. Facilitate air ambulance transfers Process authorizations for all medical services
Patient Engagement & Concierge Services
Serve as the primary point of contact for international and domestic patients, offering guidance on medical services, accommodations, and travel logistics. Utilize Epic MyChart to assist patients with account setup, appointment reminders, and access to medical records. Provide language and cultural support, coordinating interpretation services when needed. Address patient inquiries regarding treatment plans, financial estimates, and insurance coverage using Epic’s patient financial tools.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, referrals, and service requests in Epic to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Ensure adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines while handling sensitive medical information.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Work closely with physicians, nurses, case managers, and financial counselors to provide a comprehensive care experience. Identify opportunities for process improvements in patient navigation workflows and contribute to the optimization of Epic EMR functionalities. Other duties as assigned.
