Job Title: Sales Account Manager
Location: Chatsworth, California Report To: Sales Manager Shift: Day Shift: (7 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday)
Basic Functions: This position will provide enhanced support to the Sales Team and help manage the day-to-day sales processes for assigned customer accounts. The individual must be able to work independently, taking on higher-level responsibilities in maintaining customer relationships, tracking sales, and generating reports. The Sales Account Manager will serve as a key point of contact for internal teams and customers, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of orders, managing issues, and assisting in sales strategies.
Essential Duties:
- Customer Account Management: Maintain regular communication with assigned customers, addressing their needs, resolving issues, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Order Processing and Coordination: Oversee the processing of purchase orders, ensuring they are entered accurately into the ERP system. Collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of orders.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze sales reports, order status reports, and customer data to assist the Sales and Business Development team. Identify trends and potential areas for growth or improvement.
- Sales Support: Assist in the development of sales proposals and presentations, supporting the Sales Team in customer meetings and negotiations. Prepare materials as necessary for sales pitches, trade shows, or customer visits.
- Customer Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries and issues, escalating complex matters to the Sales Account Manager or Director. Ensure customer issues are resolved promptly and to their satisfaction.
- Sales Strategy Assistance: Collaborate with the Director of Business Development in tracking and developing sales strategies, including maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) tools and helping set up new accounts.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to internal processes to enhance efficiency, improve customer experience, and support company goals.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (such as logistics, engineering, and production) to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of information and resources to meet customer needs.
- Customer Retention: Support customer retention efforts through proactive follow-ups and fostering strong business relationships. Act as a liaison between customers and other internal teams.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of prior sales administrative support, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience preferred.
- Proactive, communicative, dependable, accurate, and organized.
- Prior technical product sales experience.
- Familiarity with aerospace distribution, MRO, and aftermarket support sales models.
- Strong relationship and customer development skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs and create solutions within company capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must be well-organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Fluent in reading and writing in English.
- Sustained, dependable attendance.
- Cooperation with others in a team environment for cross-training and conference on operational issues.
- Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis.
