Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Recreation Coordinator - Special Events . The Recreation Coordinator reports to the Recreation Supervisor. The primary job duties of this positions include:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee Special Events and programs designed to enhance the recreational experience for the community.

  • Collaborate with internal team members, community organizations, and vendors.

  • Oversee permits, contracts, vendors, transportation logistics, equipment, and supplies for events.

  • Monitor event operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and municipal policies.

  • Respond to community inquiries and concerns regarding events in a timely and professional manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Tourism, Business Management or related course work.

  • Two years of recreation programming, special event planning, or related experience.

  • Specialization in an event or festival management preferred (Special Event assignment only).

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Exempt – ineligible for overtime compensation.
