Lockheed Martin Senior Quality Engineer - Santa Barbara (Goleta), CA in Goleta, California

Description: You will be a Senior Quality Engineer (QE) for our Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) Santa Barbara Focalplane team, based in Goleta, CA. In this role, you will lead all quality aspects of designated program(s) and report to the Program Quality Engineering Manager.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the program's quality plan, ensuring that it meets industry standards, contractual requirements, and customer expectations. You will serve as the primary point of contact for program quality issues, working closely with internal and external customers, program management, and functional teams to achieve quality objectives. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams within the program, including supplier quality, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, and systems engineering, throughout the entire program and product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will also include communicating quality requirements to internal teams and external suppliers, and providing additional quality oversight as needed. Additionally, you will analyze quality performance data, lead the program's Corrective Action Board (CAB), and review key manufacturing and design metrics to identify areas for improvement, drive root cause analysis and corrective actions, and escalate any significant quality issues to senior leadership for attention and resolution.

This position may require up to 10% overtime annually in support of program execution.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring quality engineering, inspection, and audit resources are allocated to support surveillance activities and deliverables

• Communicating program and quality-related information to the Integrated Program Team (IPT)

• Analyzing quality data to identify trends, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions as needed

• Collaborating with Engineering & Technology and Production Operations to resolve process-related questions or changes

• Leading quality reviews for design and process changes on assigned programs

• Providing regular quality activity progress updates and accomplishments to support business rhythm

• Driving quality excellence and innovation to advance Lockheed Martin's business objectives, including 1LMX, in support of 21st century security solutions

Basic Qualifications:

• STEM Bachelors Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline required

• 5+ years of professional experience with Bachelors degree; or 3+ years' experience with Masters degree

• Quality or Development or Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering experience

• Project Management Skills

• Root Cause and Corrective Action Facilitation Experience

• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (This requires US Citizenship)

Desired Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Previous Program or Product Quality Experience

• Project Management, Leadership, and Delegation Abilities

• ISO9001/AS9100 experience

• Risk Identification and Mitigation

• Formal Causal Analysis Experience

• Certified Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt

• Integrated Dewar Cooler Assembly (IDCA), Focalplane (FPA) Manufacturing or Quality experience

• Experience with MDA Mission Assurance Provisions (MAP)

• Space-Qualified Hardware

• Data analysis, trend analysis (AI-facilitated)

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $93,800 - $162,610. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
