Robert Half Attorney/Lawyer in Grand Island, Nebraska

Description We are in search of an Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in the Factoring & Collection industry, based in Grand Island, Nebraska. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, and providing legal guidance to the management team. You will work closely with other in-house attorneys to manage litigation matters and maintain the agency's reputation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee legal matters, ensuring the agency is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA)

• Provide legal representation for the agency in legal proceedings, regulatory matters, and in resolving legal issues

• Advance legal collection files by reviewing, editing, and filing legal pleadings, monitoring both pre-judgment and post-judgment collection efforts, and negotiating settlements

• Attend hearings and trials as necessary, while also contributing to the successful management of the agency's litigation portfolio

• Provide sound legal advice to the management team, helping to shape business strategies and policy decisions, while also identifying and mitigating legal risks

• Utilize your skills in case management software, document management, briefing, civil litigation, claim administration, collections, and assuring compliance

• Handle legal risks professionally, using your background in litigation - civil, and your understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act

• Prepare and file legal pleadings, utilizing your Juris Doctor degree and status as a Licensed Attorney. Requirements • Proficiency in Case Management Software for efficient handling of cases

• Strong skills in Document Management to organize and maintain crucial legal documents

• Experience in Briefing to communicate essential information succinctly

• Expertise in Civil Litigation to represent clients in non-criminal disputes

• Ability to handle Claim Administration, ensuring all claims are processed correctly

• Experience in Collections, recovering amounts owed to the company

• Ability to Assure Compliance with all relevant laws and regulations

• Proficiency in Litigation, representing clients in legal proceedings

• Specialization in Civil Litigation, defending or pursuing legal rights in civil cases

• Knowledge of Legal Risk, identifying potential legal issues that may impact the company

• Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and its implications

• Understanding of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and its impact on financial institutions

• Ability to prepare and file Legal Pleadings in court

• Possession of a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

• Must be a Licensed Attorney in good standing with the state bar
