Robert Half Medical Billing Specialist in Greenville, South Carolina
Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in the Healthcare industry, located in Greenville, South Carolina. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be tasked with the responsibility of managing patient accounts, processing claims, and ensuring the smooth operation of billing processes within our hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently and accurately process patient credit applications related to healthcare services provided.
• Monitor patient payment activities, ensuring timely payments and taking necessary actions if payment lapses occur.
• Collaborate with collection agencies to recoup delinquent accounts, determining the feasibility of legal remedies if necessary.
• Compile and maintain Medicare bad-debt cost report by overseeing billings, monitoring collections, and gathering necessary information.
• Initiate claims against estates in case of death or unpaid accounts, coordinating with the legal department to resolve probate and estate issues.
• Facilitate the collection of balance payments for employee care by setting up payroll deductions and facilitating automatic transfers.
• Secure obstetrical payments by gathering information from pre-delivery patients, establishing pre-delivery due payments, and issuing monthly statements.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, reporting any compliance issues to maintain work operations.
• Maintain high-quality results by adhering to detail-oriented standards and the clinic's established benchmarks.
• Keep all collection information confidential to uphold the hospital's value and reputation.
• Stay updated with industry practices by engaging in educational opportunities.
• Contribute to the billing department and hospital's reputation by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Requirements • Proficiency in using medical billing software such as Allscripts and Cerner Technologies is mandatory
• Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) is required
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with EHR SYSTEM is necessary
• Ability to use Epaces for various tasks is crucial
• Excellent understanding and management skills of Accounts Receivable (AR) are necessary
• Experience with handling appeals process is required
• Knowledge of Benefit Functions within the healthcare industry is essential
• Must be able to proficiently handle Billing Functions
• Experience in Claim Administration in a healthcare setting is important
