Position Summary:

The Portfolio Development Executive (PDE) will be responsible for developing and performing the India go to market strategy for solution areas in the Digital Manufacturing portfolio and will drive Siemens’ Digital Manufacturing Story across all manufacturing industry domains. Key Digital Manufacturing solution areas will include Production scheduling, Manufacturing execution systems, Manufacturing Quality, Intralogistics capabilities.

As part of the India Sales organization, a Portfolio Development Executive (PDE) must drive the initiatives for pipeline creation and sales of assigned product domains by targeting accounts and industries where the products have a fit.

To achieve success, a Portfolio Development Executive will be responsible for and take on ownership of assigned Inquisitive Manufacturing campaigns, demonstrating, and collaborating with cross functional teams to improve software opportunities. As a trusted partner with direct and indirect sales teams, this role will be also customer facing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to define business needs and develop value propositions.

  • Ability to build a strategy and roadmap interacting with Senior Manufacturing Executives including C-Suite. Executive selling experience in Production.

  • Proven strategy development at an account and industry level

  • Ask meaningful questions to understand/identify problem areas

  • Manage multiple campaigns/initiatives per year

  • Drive campaign execution with Industry, Marketing and Sales

  • Ability to articulate end to end Digitalization campaign message and material to the customer and map in Siemens’ technology to the customer requirements and vision.

  • Manage execution plan and report progress

  • Support closing process if required

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have 6 to 9 year of sales, business development, technical or presales experience and strong, proven grasp of manufacturing-related software technology/solutions.

  • Prior experience in the digital manufacturing domain is critical

  • Demonstrated capability to be the trusted advisor for the client within new or existing customers at various organizational levels.

  • Understanding of integration to PLM, MES and ERP.

  • Experience aligning with mid/upper-level management and technical users.

  • Collaborate and get results with diverse teams across internal and external organizations.

  • Approximately 60% travel.

  • Engineering degree required.

Business Planning

  • Support the development of a portfolio plan that identifies the focus campaigns, defines encouraged target revenues, activities to achieve the plan.

Opportunity Identification and Progression

  • Support the analysis of the Market within the Country / vertical.

  • Support the identification of suspects in the Country / Vertical for the priority target industries.

  • Support the identification of the relevant campaigns and associated collaterals to be leveraged to engage in the suspect opportunities in the country or vertical.

  • Support the identification of relevant contact names in suspect opportunities.

  • Engage and implement one or more PFD activities (tactics) across the spectrum of agreed suspect opportunities within Country / Vertical.

  • Support the nurturing and development of the top suspect opportunities to maturity for handover to the Sales.

Campaign Adoption & Feedback

  • Support and provide Country feedback on the campaign collateral improvements to the appropriate Country / Zone / Global PFD leader.

Reporting & Tracking

  • Attend and support regular review sessions between the PFDs, country and sales management.

  • Regularly attend Country/Vertical PFD and Sales meetings as required.

Enablement & Mentoring

  • Support and present at Country/Vertical internal sales events, external customer events and / or conferences.

General

  • Support the interpersonal culture, values and reputation in company markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers and partners.

  • Willing and able to travel to appropriate work locations, as the need arises by SISW or specified by the customer pursuit/project.

  • Record expenses in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Adhere to, and promote all core internal and customer processes relating to the effective undertaking of the role.

  • Undertake any business administration in line with job activity.
