Lead Teacher
Full Time: Monday-Friday
Hours Vary: 38-40 hours per week
Pay: $13.00-$16.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Job Description / Summary:
The Lead Teacher is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team. The Lead Teacher plans and implements the curriculum utilizing the Developmentally Appropriate Effective Practices as defined by the National Association of Young Children (NAEYC) and preparedness of school school readiness. This position requires active participation with the children, families, other members of the teaching team to assess and address the needs of individual children. The Lead Teacher is expected to present a positive and professional image of Lisa Safe Haven Child Care LLC. Every Lead Techer is expected to actively and effectively work on a varies teams as requested.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily compliance to strict sanitation procedures (classrooms, toy, etc) and health and safely precautions.
- Develop and implements weekly age-appropriate curriculum (lesson plans) to nurture and stimulate all domains of children's development in their care.
- Accurately follow the posted classroom schedule.
- Accurately follow the planned weekly curriculum.
- Conducts child development screenings and on-going assessments in a timely, accurate manner (daily documentation).
- Conducts parent teacher conferences and home visits to keep parents up-to-date on their child's development and progress, including discussing ways to address any learning or behavioral issues.
- Manage assigned classrooms parent volunteer program (In-Kind) and document weekly activities.
- Complete required number daily documentation.
- Effectively communicate through parent portal.
- Completing all required paperwork on-time with accuracy and forward to management.
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and at home.
- Post and communicate necessary information to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and daycare training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence (in person and virtual).
- Reporting to work daily and on time.
- Report all incidents, unusual events and/or alarming situations or behaviors to HR, CEO and/or COO>

- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; reach; bend; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- This position must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is required to have fine motor skills for legible and accurate writing of reports, charting, scheduling and correspondence.
- This position must be able to work with all individuals in a positive manner, and must be familiar with stress management and conflict resolution techniques. Must be able to tolerate a high degree of stress, and have the physical agility and emotional stamina to respond quickly, appropriately and effectively to emergency situations.
Skills:
- Must be able to work for and with a number of persons
- Must be able to work under stressful conditions
- Two years of classroom experience in a licensed child care-based program.
- Ability to apply sound and mature decisions
- Consistent attendance is general qualification for this job
- Good documentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to establish rapport
