SUMMARY: The Maintenance Supervisor will assign and oversee work tasks performed by the assigned Maintenance personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with our guests and fellow associates.
Possess a New York State Driver’s license or a driver’s license from another area with a Driver’s Abstract
Certifications: Scissors Lift, Genie Lift, Single Man Genie Lift, Fork Lift, etc. (Casino will Certify)
Reads and interprets prints, diagrams, instructions, schematics and has effective interpersonal and communication skills
Uses computer office programs, department specific programs, computer controlled equipment/systems, Facilities Maintenance Program.
Insures that construction, repair, and maintenance projects conforms to established standards
Directs Maintenance Engineers, Skilled Trades Personnel, and temporary-seasonal staff engaged in construction, repair, and maintenance projects
Participates in the construction, repair, and maintenance projects
Addresses associate issues and concerns.
Develops assigned shift schedule to ensure adequate coverage to complete task and secure facility
Is proficient in building trade skills: General Construction, HVAC/Refrigeration, Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, and related skills: Fleet Work, Gaming Equipment, Grounds Keeping, Engraver, etc.
Protects and secures company assets: Property, Guest and Associate Safety, Fire Panel, Sprinkler System, Generator/ATS, UPS, Cooling Tower, Rotor Rooter, Emergency Response, Water Softener, Kitchen Equipment, Refrigeration, Handicap Doors, Chemical Handling, HVAC Control System, etc.
Builds, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains casino properties and assets.
Operates snow removal equipment: plow truck, sand/salt spreader, snow blower, shovels etc.
Operates lawn maintenance equipment: riding and walk behind mowers, hedge clippers, weed trimmers, etc.
Keeps properties clean, neat, and organized.
Attend all necessary training meetings.
Must obtain and maintain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) for NYS standards of chemical levels in our pool and hot tub. Daily tests are monitored and recorded in data base.
Monitor and records in data base daily shift checks.
Casino floor temperatures are monitored and reported.
Set up/tear down of events and general equipment/supply moves.
Assist guest and associates with vehicle emergencies: lockouts, boosting batteries, changing tires, etc.
Fills out appropriate paperwork for filling.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly Supervises associates in the Facilities Department in the absence of the Facilities Shift Manager. This includes Maintenance Engineers, Electricians, HVAC Technician, and Lead Groundskeeper. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training associates, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully completing the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two year related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in a supervisory position preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in industrial or power plant operations and equipment, technical fields of electrical, heating/air conditioning systems (such as boilers, chillers, diesels and auxiliary equipment), and plumbing, preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in facility maintenance operations (carpentry, masonry, painting, welding, kitchen appliance/refrigeration maintenance/repair, mechanical equipment, heavy equipment, and grounds/landscaping), preferred.
Experience in maintenance planning and computer systems, preferred.
Possess a NYS Driver’s License or a Driver’s License from another area with a clear drivers abstract.
Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills required.
Requires individual with a high degree of professionalism and the ability to work well independently and effectively with others, on a daily basis.
Must be detailed oriented, able to take direction and handle multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and see a work project through to completion.
A willingness to acquire new skills and utilize technology to streamline processes and problem solving are essential.
Ability to write routine correspondence, compile reports and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
Heavy lifting required.
Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
Must obtain a Scissors Lift, Genie Lift, Single Man Genie Lift, Fork Lift, certifications which will be provided by casino.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III gaming license which requires a background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed.
