Job Overview
The Staff Accountant for Systems Control will provide accounting expertise to ensure the timely and accurate processing and reporting of accounting and financial transactions including payroll-related transactions and will assist with implementing processes that ensure strong internal controls. This position will require an individual who has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of accounting, accounting process and system improvements and internal controls. This role will support Systems Control and will be based in Iron Mountain, MI.

A Day In The Life
Perform monthly payroll processing and assist with pending ADP transition
Perform month-end close routines, including preparing journal entries and preparing account reconciliations in Blackline
Perform SOX controls as assigned and assist with internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with existing company policies and procedures
Assess proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP
Provides research, analysis and support for other tasks, as requested.
Assist with physical inventories of Fixed assets and Inventory
Provide support to maintain costing for projects and inventory
Other special projects as necessary
What will help you thrive in this role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
1-3 years of accounting, and related experience
Knowledge of Syteline, SAP, ADP, and Blackline are a plus.
Payroll experience
Project Accounting experience
Highly organized with an ability to work well under tight time constraints and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
Strong Microsoft Office skills
