Position: Farm Worker
Requirements: Worker will be required to obtain a drivers license, drive, and complete a background test.
Job description: Job requires the operation of various tractors and farm equipment to till soil; work ground; prepare and maintain land; and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, and transport crops to elevator or storage area. Equipment that workers may be required to operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, mowers, track-hoes, and farm trucks. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. Participating in irrigation activities including operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivots, draining excess water from fields, and monitoring fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops. Employees will receiving crop for storage at grain storage facility; disposing of spoiled grain; transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain into trucks while keeping grain level; operating grain conveying equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; and shoveling grain. Duties also include performing general maintenance and repairs of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; and regularly servicing equipment. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

** Effective 1/1/25, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers.
