Astronics Advanced Electrical Systems (AES) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern for Summer 2025 to join our cohesive Finance Team in Kirkland, WA. This is an on-site position.
Candidates local to the greater Seattle/Kirkland, WA area highly desired. Relocation support is not available for this position.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This finance internship provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of accounting, financial analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a passion for finance, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of experienced Financial Analysts and Accounting staff the Finance Intern will be responsible for financial and accounting activities to support various processes and projects which may include:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
Support the following financial reporting areas of FP&A:
Research & Development Programs
Revenue Forecasting
Operational Performance
Accounting:
Support the following areas of accounting:
Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable
Financial Month-End Close (journal entries)
Special Project:
- Support general Finance special project as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Requires being currently enrolled in a college/university and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field with 2-3 years of college level courses completed.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with financial software is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Enthusiasm for learning and a strong desire to develop a career in finance.
Prior internship or relevant work experience in finance is desirable but not required.
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) . Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.
An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis .
Intern base salary range is $26.00 $30.00 per hour dependent on years of college level courses completed. This Intern position is eligible for holiday pay.
