Senior Business Analyst / System Analyst

What the day will look like
The System Analyst (SA) within the Online Benefit Solutions team provides strategic business analysis support to internal business stakeholders and clients where applicable. Their focus is to work closely with all assigned clients to gain an in-depth understanding of their business needs and bridging the gap between business requirements and technical / operation solutions. This role involves analysing business needs, documenting client requirements into APAC and Aon agreed standard requirement templates. The SA will deliver clear guidance and solutions to clients on the functionality, terminology, and standard operating procedures which accurately reflect the service delivery and technical capacities of the system. This can include new client implementations, an extension of services for a client, or an enhancement of current services. The role also works on ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives to improve productivity and deliver critical solutions locally, regionally & globally.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key activities include (but not limited to):
Lead business requirements gathering workstream for new client implementations and manage complex change request during renewals as per Aon standard models. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct requirements workshops and sessions with clients to gather and learn business requirements and client processes, and walkthrough requirements with clients and internal teams and translate them into standard requirement templates.
Work with internal team members to clarify requirements and communicate client expectations effectively to ensure a mutual understanding of requirements, processes and service delivery.
Work with the Admin team to review Operating Procedure (SOP), Admin Process Document (APD), Claim Rules Arrangement (CRA). This includes providing feedback and recommendations for improvement in operational processes.
Responsible for the end-to-end process of Change Request, ensuring all changes are effectively managed and communicated across relevant stakeholders. This includes meticulously monitoring and controlling the change process to align with regional and global standards, guaranteeing that all adjustments are seamless and minimally disruptive to ongoing operations.
Liaise with Data Analysts who prepared the technical and report specifications to ensure alignment with client requirements.
Work closely with and support our internal teams to resolve issues and defects, including coordinating with the Configuration System Analyst and Solution Architect on implementation simple design solutions.
Work with the development team to outline business requirements where new system features may be required based on client needs.
Collaborate and work across multi-disciplinary teams (locally, regionally, globally and externally) on assigned projects to achieve the best business outcomes within all agreed Regional and Aon methodology, best practices, protocols, budgets, timelines, etc.
Help to support and work on productivity efficiency and continuous improvements projects and initiatives across all assigned projects.
Where assigned, undertake project management on relevant internal and external projects.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Education & Certification:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Computer Science, Economics (preferred concentrations) or relevant.
Experience:
2 – 3 years proven track record as a Business Analyst or System Analyst or within a project / implementation environment with recognised analysis, specification development and testing execution.
Experience in the Health Solutions / Group Insurance domain (Employee Benefits Insurance preferred) an advantage.
Online benefits experience is an added advantage.
Competencies:
Ability to understand clients' requirements and expectations of quality, manage to those expectations, and communicate effectively and confidently at all levels.
Capability to document requirements specifications accurately and effectively.
Proficiency in analysing business challenges, making recommendations or proposals, and resolving complex issues.
Strong skills in engaging in thoughtful questioning and active listening to build a comprehensive understanding of requirement.
Competence in working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
Possession of an innovative and creative mindset, coupled with strong analytical skills.
