South Central Regional Medical Center SC Clinic Manager Trainee in Laurel, Mississippi

Position Summary: The SC Clinic Manager Trainee position is an approximately 12-18 month developmental program designed to prepare individuals for a management role within our clinics. This program combines hands-on experience, mentorship, and training, with rotations in various clinics and SC clinic support departments. The Trainee will gain a comprehensive understanding of clinic operations, management best practices, and leadership skills, preparing them for success in a clinic management role upon completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rotational Training:

  • Clinic Rotations: Participate in multi-month rotations across different clinic settings to gain practical experience in clinic management, patient care, and operational processes. This includes working directly with clinical staff, patients, and administration.

  • Support Department Rotations: Rotate through key support departments within the hospital system (e.g., accounts payable, human resources, IT, purchasing) to understand the backend operations that impact clinic performance.

  • Leadership Development:

  • Engage in structured leadership training and mentorship from senior management and clinic leaders to build essential management skills, such as decision-making, team leadership, conflict resolution, and strategic planning.

  • Participate in regular feedback sessions and assessments to track progress and refine skills for a managerial role.

  • Operational Support:

  • Assist in the daily management of clinic operations, including staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and inventory control.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance clinic efficiency, patient satisfaction, and overall care quality.

  • Observe and assist in managing budgetary and financial aspects of clinic operations, such as expense tracking and resource allocation.

  • Project Management:

  • Lead and support special projects related to clinic operations, including process optimization, staff training, and implementation of new technologies or systems.

  • Collaborate with various teams to address operational challenges and implement solutions in alignment with organizational goals.

  • Post-Program Placement:

  • Upon successful completion of the program, the Trainee will be placed in a management role within the SC clinic network, where they will oversee clinic operations, lead staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in health management, health administration, nursing, business management, or a related field (preferred).

  • Previous experience in healthcare settings, customer service, or team leadership is a plus, but not required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership potential, problem-solving abilities, and a strong desire to grow in healthcare management.

  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing environments and responsibilities during rotations.
