Role Overview:
This Summer State seasonal worker will assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the Madison Sub District facilities, along with other assigned tasks.
Salary:
This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $18.00 an hour.
Location:
This position is located in INDOT’s Madison Area.
A Day in the Life:
The essential elements of the job duties:
Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, filling, and preventative maintenance inspections.
Performs miscellaneous labor tasks.
Assists with implementation/improvement of Maintenance programs, procedures, and project planning
Assists in ensuring that the facilities and grounds are in a constant state of survey readiness from a maintenance perspective
Initiates repair parts order request and recommends items for inventory stock and monitors’ use
Assists in repairs to various facilities motors, panels, transformers, lighting systems, brine makers, lift stations, concrete patching/repairing, etc.

What You'll Need for Success:
This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:
High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.
Must be able to endure exposure to inclement weather.
Must have ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Ability to rotate shifts, when necessary.
Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:
This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period
