Starting Salary: $19.00 Based on experience Employment Type: Full-time Work Environment: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm with OT as required
Job Summary:
The forklift mechanic is responsible for complete diagnosis and repair of Propane Forklifts. Lift capacities vary from 5,000 to 12,000 lbs Hyster brand forklifts. Duties and Responsibilities: Observe functioning of forklifts to detect hazards/problems and need for adjustments, repairs or replacement. Repair and maintain forklifts within the establishment Perform preventative maintenance on forklift equipment Safely disassemble, and repair or replace broken parts Dismatle, test and analyze malfunctioning equipment, hand tools and power tools and test apparatus to locate defects Clean and lubricate parts Document all work performed Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Requirements: Must be adept at troubleshooting problems High school diploma or GED preferred 5 years experience as an Industrial forklift mechanic Excellent communication skills(written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines Excellent knowledge of mechanical processes and procedures Excellent knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment Must be able to work safety and independently Must wear required personal protective equipment when in manufacturing areas Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly throughout the day Regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms Regular bending, stooping, stretching, twisting, and turning Frequently required to stand (up to 10 hours) and walk Noise level is usually moderate Exposure to head and cold extremes at times Exposure to potentially hazardous production areas (heavy equipment traffic, slip/trip hazards, airborne dust/debris, etc)
