Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Marshall, Michigan

Description We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in the healthcare sector, located in MARSHALL, Michigan. In this role, you will be primarily tasked with the follow-up and collection of self-pay accounts, arranging payment methods for services, and providing excellent customer service. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process and manage customer credit applications

• Maintain an accurate record of customer credit

• Respond to customer inquiries and provide necessary information in a timely manner

• Review self-pay accounts to determine patient insurance status and input the information into the system

• Assist patients in qualifying for the hospital’s financial assistance program

• Handle a high volume of incoming calls and assist the patients as necessary

• Collaborate with patients to arrange a method of payment consistent with hospital procedures

• Understand and analyze large volumes of numerical and financial data

• Place collection calls on accounts as per the established procedure

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) operations, with a strong understanding of collection processes and operations.

• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to handle inbound and outbound calls efficiently and professionally.

• Extensive experience in the healthcare industry, with a deep understanding of its unique financial and operational requirements.

• Proven ability to utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial tracking.

• Familiarity with specific healthcare financial systems such as athenahealth and Cerner Revenue Cycle.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple accounts and resolving payment issues in a timely manner.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.

• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality, ensuring all financial records are meticulously maintained.

• An understanding of medical terminology and coding systems would be advantageous.
