Siemens Digital Industries Software DevOps Engineer w/ Unix Sys. Admin exp. (1) - US Remote in Milford, Ohio

As a DevOps Engineer, you will work with the Senior architects and Senior DevOps Engineers to ensure that our applications/platforms are always available to meet the needs of our internal customers. This position requires an engineering discipline combined with systems engineering and software skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, testing, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of tools used by development teams, including but not limited to:

  • Source Code Management tools

  • Collaboration and Issue tracking tools used in Agile development.

  • Installation/configuration of Atlassian tools.

  • Database

  • Software Repository Management

  • Analysis Tools, Compilers and Debuggers

  • Configure and manage HA Proxy to ensure high availability and load balancing for our applications.

  • Maintain and administer data stores ensuring proper backup, replication and failover strategies.

  • Write and maintain scripts in Shell, Perl, and Python to automate infrastructure and deployment tasks.

  • Develop and maintain IAAC scripts to provision and configure virtual machines and applications.

  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and other stakeholders to improve development processes and streamline workflows.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, working with other teams to resolve problems quickly and effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with security policies and standards.

  • Manage the patching process for our infrastructure, ensuring timely application of security updates and patches.

  • Stay up to date with security advisories and vulnerability management, proactively identifying potential security threats and taking action to mitigate risks.

  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a DevOps or infrastructure automation role.

  • Proficient in managing source code management tools like Git, SVN, etc.

  • Experience in administering and configuring various tools used in Software development.

  • Knowledge of networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, Active Directory is required.

  • Strong scripting skills in Shell, Perl, and Python.

  • Strong Unix (Linux) administration skills a must

  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins.

  • Good knowledge in Containers and Container Management solutions is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Understanding of PMP concepts and ITIL terminologies.

The salary range for this position is $101,200 to $182,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
